Marian "Toni" A. Ferguson died at 3:15 pm on December 11, 2018 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehab Center in Jerseyville at the age of 79.
She was born February 8, 1939 in Carrollton, IL, to Viola Liles. She married Denny Ferguson on February 13, 1960 in Carrollton. Toni was a homemaker and worked at Wagner Electric in St. Louis.
She was an avid golfer and for years played with a group of ladies at Rolling Hills. Golf for her was not only a sport but a social gathering and a way to make a fashion statement. If you knew her, you knew that every outfit matched from hat to socks and golf shoes!
She loved all things crafty. She painted, crocheted and made baskets. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and there were always at least three if not more perfectly decorated trees in the house! She also loved to travel with her husband and saw many parts of the world by both ship and bus. She could strike up a conversation with a perfect stranger and she was quite proud of her grandsons!
She is survived by her husband, two children: Leslie Ferguson-Dietz and her husband Tom Dietz of Mill Valley, California and Craig Ferguson of Jerseyville, and two grandsons Connor & Colin Dietz.
She was preceded in death by her mother, grandson Cooper Dietz, and her grandmother, Julia Liles.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. at Alexander & Gubser Funeral Home. Funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 at Alexander & Gubser Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor David Brown. Burial will be at Carrollton City Cemetery.
