John M. Corby, 71, died at 3:59 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 in Brighton, IL. He was born November 3, 1946 in Alton the son James and Cora (Gaither) Corby. He retired in 2007 as a mechanic with Brown Tire and Automotive in Wood River. Surviving are a son, John David Corby and his wife Staci of Brighton, two grandchildren, Averi Corby and Emma Seehausen, and one sister, Linda L. Corby of Dow, long time friend; Linda Sue Corby Weber. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Corby, one sister and brother in law, Patricia and Dean Hutchinson, and his best friend, Tommy Willliams. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where a memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 with Pastor Jim Kiel to officiate.
