David Allen Vatole, 55, of Cottage Hills, passed away at 5:52 am on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Saint Louis University Hospital.
David was born on May 17, 1962 in Alton, the son of the late Leo F. and Willie F. (Hill) Vatole.
He married Mary T. Roemer on March 18, 2001 in Arkansas. They were actually together for 36 years. She survives.
David worked for 15 years as a mechanic for Meineke in Alton and also Ted’s Motorcycle World for 8 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, and riding around his neighborhood on his golf cart. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of Cottage Hills, David is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Shaun and Tammy Roemer and Jason and Kaila Vatole all of Cottage Hills and a daughter, Kasi Waggoner of Alton; six grandchildren, Brandon, Chaise, Paige, Damon, Zoey and Della; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Patricia and Fred Cosby of Cottage Hills, Donna Webb of Reynolds, and Linda and Dale Walker of Cottage Hills and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Sandra Hammock, brothers, Jerry and Steve Vatole and a brother-in-law, Gary Webb.
Visitation will be from 4 pm until funeral services at 7 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Private burial will be at a later date.
