Wood River—Donald K. Davis, 62, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born May 31, 1955 in Alton, he was the son of Donald and Dolores (McGibany) Davis.

He worked as a truck driver for 25 years, and later he worked as a private investigator and bodyguard.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia (Carpenter) Davis; two sons, Donald (Tiffany) Davis, Jr. of Rosewood Heights and David (Jen) Davis of Roxana; two daughters, Shannon (Travis) Bertels of Moro and Renee’ (Damon) Rupcinski of South Roxana; 14 grandchildren, Kimberly, Gracie, Halle, Donavin, Dylan, Dawson, Emily, Gabriel, Julia, Brenden, Bryce, Chase, Davis and Finley;  two sisters, Dolores “Dee” Dodson and Gaye (Kevin) Pruett, all of Rosewood Heights; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Dona “Junie” Myers, Gail “Trish” Norris, Deanna Brown, and Rebecca Franklin.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5 at Paynic Home for Funerals.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6 at the Bethalto Church of God.

Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Allen Wright, a friend of the family who is battling cancer.
