Betty Jean Cox, 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at 3:56 p.m., at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.She was born on March 11, 1932, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Harry and Edith (Huber) Wenzel.Betty was married to Donald Gottlob, who passed away in August of 1988. She married Richard Cox on January 5, 1985. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2010.Betty worked for Alton Banking and Trust, as a teller, prior to retirement. She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Alton. Betty enjoyed reading and listening to music.Survivors include two sons, Don and Donna Gottlob of Bethalto, Terry Gottlob of Alton; on step son, Richard Cox III and his wife Gayle of Florida; five grandchildren, Julianne Gottlob, Ashlee Gottlob, Mackenzie Gottlob, Robbie Gottlob, Wendy Bunker; four great grandchildren; and one brother, Maurice Wenzel of Godfrey.She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Julianne Gottlob; one son, Robert Gottlob; and one brother, Harold Wenzel.Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017, at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Alton with Rev.
