Cherri D. Klaus, age 61, of Worden, Illinois died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Cherri was a retired accountant manager for Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis. She was born November 20, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of late Archie & Mildred (Slayton) Edwards. She married Michael E. Klaus on May 3, 1975, at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Besides her husband Michael she is survived by 1 son, Michael Klaus of Worden, 1 daughter, Jessica Walton & Husband Dave of Wood River; 5 grandchildren, Penny Lane, Van, Star, Amelia & Arianna; 2 brothers, Bill Edwards & wife Linda of Libby, Montana & Charlie Edwards & wife Donna of St. Peters, Missouri; 1 sister, Donna Flannery & husband Keith of Wood River, Illinois. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Edwards. First & foremost she enjoyed her children & grandchildren and was an avid Cardinal baseball fan. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Services will be at 11:30 a.m.Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or Alzheimers Association.
