Marjorie “Margie” Colburn, 80, died at 8:50 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at her home. Born September 19, 1936 in Alton, she was the daughter of William and Myrtle (Kirchoff) Phillips. Margie owned and operated Country Catering and worked with her husband at the Colburn Christmas Tree Farm. She was a member of the former Zion Presbyterian Church of Fosterburg. On September 14, 1957 she married Donald Colburn in Alton. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Randy) Scott of Medora and Anita (Tony) Szabolcsky of St. Charles, MO, and a son, Donald (Tracy) Colburn Jr. of Brighton. Nine grandchildren, Jamie (Marty) Droege, Jessica (Ryan) Scott, Steven (Brooke) Scott, Christine (Shane) Nance, Daniel Scott, David Colburn, Max Colburn, Elyzabeth Colburn, and Luke Szabolcsky, seven great grandchildren, Meghan, Sam, Ayden and Josie Droege, and Riley, Caroline and Cecilia Schmidt. Two sisters, Lucille Johnson and Bernice Haworth, and two brothers, Earl Phillips, and Richard Phillips. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Sparks and Rose Beem, and three brothers, William Phillips, Robert Phillips Sr., and Edwin Phillips. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Reverend Charles Schwaab will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
