Loretta May McClenahan, 93, of Wood River, IL, died at 9:58 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at her home while under hospice care.
She was born Apr. 25, 1922 in Granite City, IL to the late Forest Ray & Edith Mae (Hausafus) McDowell.
On June 26, 1945, she and James Harry Dale McClenahan were married in Granite City. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 2010.
Survivors include: 2 daughters, Gayle Palen (fiancé Michael Thompson) of Alton and Patti Dale (David) Daniel of Bethalto, a granddaughter, Kate E. (Nick) Pellegrino and 5 great-grandchildren, Ryder James Collins, Reid John Pellegrino and Sydney, Dane & Sophie Mae Daniel.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Melissa Palen, a brother, Forest Wayne McDowell and a sister, Lydia Helene Jerden.
Private family services were held with burial at Sunset Hills Memorial Park.
