W.L. "Poodle" Bray, 79, died at 1:55 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehab.
Born January 26, 1931 in Pontotoc, Mississippi, he was the son of George and Dolly (Stuart) Bray. He was a farmer his whole life. In 1981 he married Rose M. Smith. She preceded him in death on May 13, 1998.
Surviving are two sons, George A. Bray and wife Cindy of Alton, Benny Lavel Bray and wife Martha of Greenville, MS a daughter, Peggy Sue Bray of Greenville, MS and two grandchildren, Justin T. Bray of Grafton and Christina Bray of Greenville, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and seven brothers.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Upper Alton Cemetery. Reverend Carl Cook will officiate. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
