Wilma Pauline "Bonnie" Cervantes, 66, died at 10:12 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital.She was born in Grafton on March 26, 1946, one of eight children born to the late Ira & Alta (Wright) Towell.Bonnie graduated in 1964 from Jersey Community High School, and began working at Olin Corp. for a short time prior to her marriage.She married Leonardo Cervantes on Dec. 31, 1966 at the Grafton United Methodist Church and together they have shared 46 years together and the joys of their two children and five grandchildren.Bonnie was a loyal and devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Grafton, and was known as their "Prayer Warrior".  She volunteered for many Summer Camps as a counselor, assisted with Vacation Bible School, and stepped up to help with many banquets, including the Mother/Daughter Banquets.Surviving are her husband, Leonardo Cervantes of Jerseyville; a son & daughter in law, Michael and Ann Cervantes of Grafton; a daughter & son in law, Sara & Matthew Fessler of Jerseyville; five grandchildren, Alyssa & Jordan Cervantes and Ethan, Aaron & Alexander Fessler; two sisters, Sharon Carter of Godfrey and Joyce Ingold of East Alton; three brothers, Charles Towell, Dan Edward Towell and Jan Towell all of Otterville.She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Grover Towell and a sister, Nancy Fairchild.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. Friday until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Grafton with Rev. William Hendricks officiating.Burial will be in the Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Grafton in care of the funeral home
