Wilma L. Calame’ 74, died at 1:48 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born May 25, 1937 in Alton, she was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Chappell) Weigel.
She worked for Owens Illinois Glass in Alton and also for Burt’s Shelter Care in Alton.
On June 10, 1959 in Alton she married Donald E. Calame’. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly and Otis Steward of Wood River and Nancy and William Netzhammer of Alton, two sons and daughters-in-law, Royce and Sherry Weigel of Godfrey and Edward and Jennifer Calame’ of Edwardsville, nine grandchildren, Amber Ely, Nicholas, Samantha, Jessica and Tyler Calame’, Heather and Matthew Steward, William Netzhammer III, and Cody Netzhammer, five great grandchildren, one brother, Jerry Weigel of Godfrey, and three sisters, Barbara Meyer of Delhi, Judy Weigel of Godfrey, and Marcella Hornsey of Godfrey. She was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Weigel.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
