William Terry Johnson, 64, died at 6:02 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at his home.
Born June 11, 1960 in Alton, he was the son of the late William Norman and Margaret Elizabeth (Woods) Franklin and a stepson to Patricia Johnson of Cottage Hills.
William was a driver for Woods Sanitation Service.On February 17, 1978, he married the former Sharon Kaye Pace in Jerseyville, IL.She survives.
Along with his wife and step-mother, he is survived by two sons, William “Billy” Johnson, and James Harry Johnson (Elizabeth), a step-daughter, Michelle Dawn Fluck Swarringin (Travis), eight grandchildren, Nick Swarringin (Emily), Emileigh Swarringin, Noah Swarringin, Matthew Johnson, Brody Johnson, Kaylynn Johnson, Avery Johnson and Madalynn Johnson, and two great grandchildren, Mia Swarringin and Easton Swarringin.
Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Robert “Bobby” Johnson (Sally), Rodney Johnson (Connie), Lynny Johnson (Julie), Patty Flanigan, Becky Swarringin (Michael), Nancy Rutherford (Mark), Joely Johnson, and Mindy Jonson.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Ervin Johnson, two brothers, Harry Woods III and George Michael Johnson, and a brother-in-law, Rocky Flanigan.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. at the Restoring Hope Church of God, 1332 Miland St., Wood River, IL.Pastor Cory Kendall will officiate.
