William H. “Bill” Gregory, 99, went to be his loved one’s Saturday afternoon July 28, 2012 at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville. He was born on May 30, 1913 in Prairie Grove, AR, the son of Lester & Emma (Stewart) Gregory.
He married Alice McDonald on October 6, 1930 in Arkansas and she preceded him in death in 1997. Bill worked as a pipe fitter for Amoco Oil for 37 years before retiring.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially coon hunting. He is survived by a daughter Beverly Akeman of Wood River and a son Randy and wife Laura Gregory of Godfrey.
He was preceded in death by, his parents, wife, and a grandson Greg Roberon and three sisters who had lived in Arkansas.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Service will be held Wednesday August 1, 2012 at 10 am at the funeral home with Pastor Andre Dobson officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
