William Holland

Brighton |

William E. Holland, 88, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2011 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home.  Born December 21, 1922 in Gallatin County Illinois, he was the son of Otto and Dora (Starkey) Holland.  He served in the Marine Corps during WWII and retired from the Olin Corporation as a chemical lab tech.  Surviving is a brother, Robert Starkey Holland and his wife Donna of Rotonda West, Florida.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert and Bertis Holland and a sister, Betty Louise Patterson.  There will be no services.  Burial will be at Old Cottonwood Cemetery in Omaha, Illinois.  Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
