William E. Fansler 95 went to be with the Lord at 10:20 am, Friday, May 31, 2013 at Blu-Fountain Manor in Godfrey.
He was born in Barr, IL on August 23, 1917 to the late Wayne and Ina (Ballard) Fansler.
He retired from Shell Oil Refinery on July 1, 1973 after 35 years of service. He loved to farm and farmed most of his married life until going into a nursing home. He was a member of the North Side Assembly of God Church in Godfrey, IL. He enjoyed spending time with his sons, and grandchildren.
William married the former Stella I. Carey on October 27, 1939, in Alton, Illinois. She preceded him in death on November 9, 2003
He is survived by two sons and their spouses; Gary W. and Gayle Fansler of Ft. Worth, TX, Robert E. and Helen Fansler of Bethalto, four grandchildren and their spouses; Gary W. and Angela Fansler II, Darin and Yolanda Fansler, Dana Romaguera, and Shelley and Dan Cichlar, eight great grandchildren; Reagan, Jordan, Zoe, Daniel, Michelle, Tarin, Tyler and Riley, one sister; Mary Bush of Alton. Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse and a brother; Raymond Fansler.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Sunday June 2, 2013 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Funeral Service will be at 10 am, Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. The Rev Randy Copeland will officiate.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
