William D. McKee, 91, passed away at 9:45 am Monday, August 22, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 9, 1920 in Godfrey, IL, son of the late John & Amanda (Smith) McKee.
William was the owner and operator of All American Furnace. He served his county in the United States Army during WWII. He was a life time member of the Alton VFW Post 1308. He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting and working on his rental properties.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Kathleen McKee of Alton; two grandchildren and their spouses, Sheila & Eric Aton of Madison, WI and Michelle & Yamil Darwich of Bronx NY; four great grandchildren, Claire, Molly, Yamil and Wally and a sister-in-law, Myrt McKee of Edwardsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Luke McKee and two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 am on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey with military rite being preformed by the Alton VFW Post 1308.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alton VFW Post 1308 and or the Salvation Army.
