William Bradford "Bill" Petty, Sr., 79, passed away Saturday, July
12, 2014 at his residence.
Born January 18, 1935 in St. Louis, he ws the son of William Petty and Florence (DeSherlia) Henley.
An army veteran, Bill had been a truck driver, custodian and lawn maintenance man before retiring.
Surviving are a son, Bill, Jr. (Donna) Petty of Caseyville; four daughters, Phyllis (Jim) Weeks of Godfrey, Ronda (Steve) Harmon of St. Louis, Barbara (Jack) Brown of Barry, Janet Spruce of Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and special companion, Katie Hurt of Alton.
Preceding in death were her parents; step-father, Kenneth Hensley; daughter, Sandra Phillips; granddaughter, Sara Phillips; and brother, Orville Lester Belt.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the 5 A's Animal Shelter in Alton.
