Willetta Gillian 93 passed away at 7:55 am, Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Crab Apple Village in St. Clair, MO.
She was born to James and Orpha Smith on July 18, 1917 .
Willetta married James S. Gillian on February 4, 1942, in St. Charles, MO, until his death in 1948.
Willetta was a long time member residence of Alton where she was a beautician and worked on the assembly line at Owens Illinois Glass Company until her retirement. She was a member of the Upper Alton Baptist Church in Alton, IL.
She is survived by four grandchildren and their spouses; Grant F. Gillian of St. Clair, MO, Gray and Sara Gillian of Sartell, MN, Tracy Bellitto of Alton, IL, and Chelsea Gillian of Alton, IL, a daughter-in-law; Cecelia & James Garvey of Western Grove, AR, four great grandchildren; Three sisters; Pauline &
Bill Huish of Pawleey Island S.C., Ruth Kaufman of Paducah, KY and JoAnn Keer of Titusville, FL and one brother William Smith of Sparta, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons; James B. Gillian and Donald G. Gillian and one sister Dola Smith.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton cemetery in Alton, IL.
Memorials may be made to St. Johns Hospice of Washington, MO or the American Heart Association.
