Wendell Weatherford

Butler |

Wendell L. Weatherford, 57, of Butler, IL, passed away October 14, 2024 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. Wendell, the son of Glenn and Lorelda (Niehaus) Weatherford, was born November 22, 1966 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL.

Wendell attended Lincolnwood High School, graduating in 1984. After meeting at the White Cottage Cafe and spending 9 years getting to know each other, Wendell married Jacquelyn Carron on October 10, 2009 and they spent the next 15 years doing everything hand in hand.

Wendell had many jobs throughout his lifetime, but he was a coal miner by heart. Wendell found a lifelong brotherhood of friends during his time at Crown III in Farmersville, MaRyan mine in Carlinville and Deer Run mine in Hillsboro.

Wendell was the text book definition of "Jack of all trades." He could fix anything and had many inventions that never left the shop. Wendell loved any activities that involved the outdoors and loved riding his Harley. He loved spending time with the Carron kids, teaching them the ways of the "old days."

Wendell is survived by his spouse, Jacquelyn (Carron) Weatherford of Butler, son Justin Weatherford of Butler, father Glenn Weatherford of Butler, brother Glenn Weatherford of Riverton, brother, Warren (Peggy) Weatherford of Pilser, South Carolina, sister, Sheila (Brian) Smith of Springfield, cousin Joyce Weatherford of Litchfield, in laws John Carron of Raymond, Jeremy (Jen) Carron of Harvel, Jeff (Amber) Carron of Raymond, along with the Carron kids (Jaylynne, Joceylynne, Jesse, Brooklynn, and Jordynne) that Wendell adored.

Wendell is preceded in death by mother Lorelda (Niehaus) Weatherford, brother Wade Weatherford, uncle Bobby Weatherford, and most recently mother in law Sandra Carron. A celebration of life will be held at the Raymond K of C Hall on November 22, 2024 from 6-10 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to wishes of the family of Jacquelyn Weatherford. Anyone wishing to send an online condolence may do so at www.kravanyafuneral.com.
