Vivian Vaughn

Vivian W. Vaughn, 99, passed away at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.

She was born in Alton, on March 29, 1915, the daughter of the late Allen and Bessie (Emery) Laslie.

She married Charles F. Vaughn in February of 1933 in Alton, IL; he preceded her in death in February of 1984.

She is survived by 8 grandchildren and their spouses; Terri and James Broggin of Tacoma, WA, Tamara and Jeff Darr of Bethalto, IL, Tina and Ed Sentner of Santa Cruz, CA, Traci Pelhank of Dow, IL, Tona Short and Roley Overmeyer of East Alton, IL, Timothy and Rhonda Vaughn of Meadowbrook, IL, Sara and Ken Schlemer of Staunton, IL and Amy Wittels of Branson, MO and numerous great, and great great grandchildren a sister; Nancy Paul of Bethalto, and a brother: Lyle Laslie of Godfrey, two nieces and their spouses; Becky and Danny Bess of Bethalto, IL and Georgia and John Losstutter of St. Jacob, IL, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family . 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter; Barbara Jackson and a son; Charles A. Vaughn, three sisters; Mildred Crider, Margaret Tumer and Pat Davis, and two brothers; William Laslie and John Laslie.

Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm, Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL, Funeral services will be at 10 am, Friday, April 4. 2014 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.

Burial will follow at the Upper Alton Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Eunice Smith Nursing Home In Lue of Flowers.
