Vivian P. Rhodes, age 96, passed away at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Eldercare of Alton.
She was born in Patton, IL on March 21, 1914, the daughter of Arthur A. and Grace (Riley) Austin.
Vivian was first married to Raymond Cummings who died in 1986 and then to Edward M. Rhodes whom she married on November 28, 1990 in Las Vegas and he preceded her in death in 2001.
She is survived by many Nieces and Nephews including Richard and Sue Johnson of Alton, Irene and Richard Denother of Alton and Nancy and Richard Manley of Alton.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, an infant sister, four brothers Calvin, Nolan, Harold, and Raymond Austin, two sisters Marie Johnson and Hazel Edwards, one half brother Chester Goens.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 8, 2011 at Elias Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Rev. A. J. Maggos officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
