Virginia Lou “Jinny” (Chapman) Wallace, 68, was welcomed into heaven by our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 9, 2012. Virginia was a member of Heartland Baptist Church in Alton and a 1962 graduate of Jerseyville High School. Jinny was a warm, loving person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Jinny was born on April 16, 1944 to Willis F. Chapman of Bethalto and the late Dollie M. (Jackson) Chapman. Jinny married Harold S. Wallace on September 28, 1962. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Cherryl A. Peuterbaugh and her husband Jim of Brighton, and Denise C. Flannery and her husband Stephen of Wood River, one son, Paul B. Wallace and his wife Sara of Alton, eight grandchildren, Geoffrey (Stephanie) LeClaire, Brandon Wallace, Stephen Flannery, Jacob Wallace, Hannah Flannery, Meghan Peuterbaugh, Madison Wallace and Clayton Peuterbaugh, a brother, David (Linda) Chapman, and a sister, Diane (Charles) Dale. She was preceded in death by her mother. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Heartland Baptist Church in Alton. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Reverend Jim Grant will officiate.
