Vicki L. Smith, 60, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at her home in Godfrey. Born March 1, 1951 in Alton, she was the daughter of the late Joan L. (East) Smith and William “Ed” Smith of Godfrey. Vicki attended Alton High School and took catechism classes from Monsignor Suddes at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. She owned and operated Discount Printing in Godfrey since 1987 and loved to bass fish with her brother-in-law. Surviving is her life partner, Nancy Hartley whom she was officially united with on June 18, 2011 in a civil union service. Also surviving is a sister Jody R. Hines and her husband Vern Hines Jr. of Alton, her uncle, Jake L. East of Godfrey and her beloved Shih Tzu dog, Cuddles. She was preceded in death by her mother. There will be no services. Memorials may be made to Glazebrook Park in Godfrey. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
