Verne M. (McKay) Jenkins, 77, passed away on Wednesday evening, June 6, 2012.
Born in Augusta, Maine on May 21, 1935, she was the daughter of Arthur and Geneva (Adams) McKay.
She married David L. Jenkins on April 16, 1955. In addition to her devoted husband, she is survived by four children, Nonie (Dan) Fitzgerald of Alton, Linda (Don) Voorhees of Brighton, Bryan of Godfrey and Michael (Jeanette) of Godfrey; seven grandchildren, John and Mary Beth Fitzgerald, Nicholas (Lea) and Matthew Voorhees, Jocelyn (Justin) Urbonas, Justin (Amanda) and David C. Jenkins; seven great-grandchildren, Daniel Brayden Fitzgerald, Emmett, Piper and Wyllow Voorhees, Nora and Barrett Urbonas, Eliza and Konner Jenkins; a sister, Nora Labbe of Maine, and one brother, George (Delores) McKay of Maine.
Also surviving are her brothers and sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Don) Bunt of East Alton, and Edward “Ed” (Janet) Jenkins of Alton, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Maurice Labbe.
Per her wishes, no service was held. She will be dearly missed by all who love her.
