Verla Mae Seely, 78, of Bethalto passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 1:10 am at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Alton, MO the daughter of Henry H. and Georgia Rose (Wheeler) Farmer. Verla married Robert Ashley Seely, Sr. in Alton, IL on September 17, 1966. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2012.
Verla was a very compassionate and loving person, and always greeted everyone with a smile. If you knew her you loved her. She enjoyed making jewelry, crafting, camping, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Verla also had a sweet tooth and enjoyed sweets of any kind.
She is survived by her children, Robert A. Seely, Jr. (Traci), Jeanne Null (Bryan), and Tammy Tassinari (John); five grandchildren, Christopher Tassinari, Logan Null (Colin Bernier), Ryan Null, Tyler Seely, Taylor Seely; and two great grandchildren, Carter Null and Gabriella Tassinari.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Billy Wheeler and James Farmer.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL.
A service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
