Venita L. Wilson, 86, passed away at 4:25am on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Blu Fountain Nursing Home in Godfrey.
She was born on June 10, 1926 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Lemon F. and Grace E. (Rodgers) Fulks.
She married Herbert W. Wilson on December 21, 1945 in Litchfield, IL. He passed away on May 20, 1981.
Venita was a homemaker. She was a member of the Whitelaw Baptist Church in Wood River. She enjoyed singing, visiting with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and reading her bible.
She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Sharon and Dennis Wood, Judy and Mike Roszak and Wendie and Brian Lloyd all of Alton; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Emily and Matt Hayes, Annie and Ryan Berghoff, Bradley and Julia Roszak, Kathleen Roszak, Justin and Brandy Lloyd, Megan Lloyd, Katy and Matt Miller, John Lloyd and Jacob and Katie Lloyd and ten great grandchildren, Leah, Meredith, Ashlyn, Liam, Hudson, Kindy, Kaelynn, Caleb, Jaiden and Maci.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Newcom officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Whitelaw Avenue Baptist Church in Wood River.
