V. Nadene Hilleary, 89, died at 1:45 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Alton. She was born August 12, 1921 in Jersey County, IL the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Louisa E. (Ferguson) Gardner. She was employed as a waitress for Tony’s Restaurant for many years. Surviving are a nephew; Girard “Gerry” Mandorca and his wife Joyce of Godfrey, a niece; Myrna Mandorca of Moro, a nephew; Colin Mandorca and his wife Jean of Brighton and a nephew; Roger Gardner and his wife Terri of Delhi and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers; Leo “Bud” Gardner, Floyd Gardner, George Gardner and Thomas Gardner. Two sisters; Theo Smithpott and Alice Mandorca. One half sister; Daisy Isringhausen. There will be no services. Memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Aid. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
