Truman Wahl Jr., 84, died at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital.  Born July 15, 1926 in East Alton, IL, he was the son of Truman V. and Nettie Olga (Long) Wahl Sr.  He had worked for the Alton Box Board, Nevelins Trucking in Alton, Phipps Dodge in Hopkinsville, KY, and also for U-Wash Equipment Company.  After retiring from U-Wash, he became a driver for various car dealers.  He was a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge #25 A.F. and A.M.

He married the former Elma Lee Cossey.  She preceded him in death on October 27, 1978.  Surviving is a daughter, Vivian “Faye” Goheen and her husband Terry of Cottage Hills, one son, Conley Wahl and his wife Farsha (Nickless) Wahl of Alton, seven grandchildren, Harold “Goober” McBride, Jamie Bricker-Mitchell, Connie Waggoner, Jim Wahl, Kelly Holman, Terry Lee Goheen, and Cody Soffray, 20 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one brother, Loyal “Lye” Wahl of Alton, and one sister, Hazel Dixon of Alton.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a great granddaughter, Lindsey Bricker, a brother, Morris Wahl Sr., and a dear friend, Helen Lowry. 

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with a Masonic service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home.  Reverend Don Arnold will officiate. 

Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz, KY, officiated by his dear niece, Reverend Mera Cossey Corlett.
