Toni Marie Stevenson, 50 departed this life Sunday at 7:52 a.m. at Integrity Health Center of Alton.
Toni was born March 12, 1965 in Alton to the union of Yvonne (Smith)Stevenson and the late Elwood Stevenson.  She attended Alton Public Schools, and graduated in 1984.  After graduation, she continued her education at Lewis and Clark Community College majoring in education. 
Toni accepted Christ at an early age.  She was a faithful member of Greater Saint James Missionary Baptist Church serving: a youth choir member, bible study teacher’s assistant, and culinary committee ministry. She was employed for Alton School System and at Olin Corporation as A Operator until her health failed.
Ms. Stevenson loved life and enjoyed bowling. She was a very loving, cheerful, caring, and beautiful person.  She also had an affinity for watching sports especially track and field.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by: a sister, Darla Stevenson; maternal grandparents, Elton and Annie Lee Smith; paternal grandparents, Eugene and Mary Ellen Stevenson; 3 uncles, Lawrence Crowder, Sylvester Crowder, and Richard Stevenson; 3 aunts, Odessa Smith Wallace, Mamie Lee Crowder, and Alice Stevenson Hutchinson.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: loving mother, Yvonne Stevenson of Alton; fiancée, Todd Ontis of Alton; 3 brothers, Elwood Stevenson, Jr., Elton “Gene” Stevenson, and Adrian Butler all of Alton, and Darryl Northern of Indiana; 2 sisters, Carla Butler Cottingham of California and Sherri (Northern) Butler of Alton; special nieces and nephews, Darian Stevenson, Tyler Stevenson, La’ Chaus Wallace, Adrian Butler, Jr.,  and Empress Butler; 3 aunts, Viola Jackson, Maxine Hughes, and Gloria Mitchell; 2 god-daughters, Germia Wallace and Amiya Herrod; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will convene from 9 until time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Greater Saint James M. B. Church.  Interment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery. Pastor James Webb will officiate.  Guest signature and condolences are available at www.harrisonfuneralchapel.com.
