Toni Marie Carter, age 53, passed away at 10:50 pm March 5, 2011 at St Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born on March 24, 1957 in Alton, IL the daughter of T.J. and Hilda (Kaiser) Fowler.
She married Glen Carter April 8, 1978 in Alton and he survives.
Toni was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and sister. Toni volunteered at the Children’s Museum of IL in Decatur, IL. She also taught Marshal Arts and was a second degree black belt. She also was an avid crafter.
She is survived by her mother, husband four children two sons Zachary and spouse Irina Carter of Atlanta, GA, Nicholas and spouse Jessica Carter of Decatur, IL, two daughters Mary Carter and spouse Brian Theisen of Nashville, TN, Jennifer Carter of Springfield, IL, one granddaughter Paisley Carter, four brothers Terry and spouse Barb Fowler of Elsah, IL, Timothy Fowler of Centralia, IL, Tom and spouse Iris Fowler of St. Charles, MO, Jason and spouse Brenda Fowler of Alton, four sisters Betsy Souder of Alton, Judy and spouse John Harlan of Godfrey, Amy and spouse Jeff Schneider of Forestell, MO, Tina and spouse Kevin Zumbaum of Godfrey.
She was preceded in death by her father T.J. and an infant daughter Melissa Ann.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Thursday March 10, 2011 at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church at 10 am Friday March 11, 2011 with Father Steve Pohlman officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
