Timothy Holt

Cedar Rapids, IA |

Timothy Michael Holt, 55, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Alton, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2021.

Tim was born on October 21, 1966, in Alton, Illinois, to Eugene and Carolyn (Klaus) Holt, along with his twin, Tad. Tim and Tad attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Marquette Catholic High School ('84,) and played baseball and football throughout their youth and high school. They were each other's best friend and remained inseparable throughout life -- often taking jobs that separated them, only to come back together in a new city or to work for the same company, eventually.

Tim loved airplanes and spent most of his career in the aeronautics industry. Playing golf became a favorite hobby, and he always loved working on cars. He was an Army veteran having served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

In addition to his parents, Tim is survived by many who loved him including his fiancé, Rose Bismanos of Davao City, Philippines; daughter Brittanee and her family - Matt, Zoey, and Luci Hokenson of Bunker Hill, Illinois; daughter Carolyn Engler of Germany; brother, Tad, and his family - Amy, Amber, Hannah, and Harrison Holt of Cedar Rapids; sisters Tammy (Philip) Creighton and Terri (David) Hufker, both of Shawnee, Kansas; many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces; and last but not least, his beloved dog, Bella.

Tim will be cremated and interred at a later date in 2022 when all can gather to celebrate his life. Memorials may be made to Marquette Catholic High School or 5A's Animal Shelter, both in Alton, in memory of Tim.
