Timothy D. Spaulding

Timothy D. Spaulding, 58, of Fieldon, IL, a winter resident of Lake Wales, FL, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Lake Wales Medical Center, with his wife by his side.

 

He was born on November 11, 1953 in Alton, the son of the late Jack and Mary (McGill) Spaulding; he has been going to Lakes Wales as a winter resident for seven years. He was a retired Fire Chief for the city of Alton and was a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his Wife, Children, and Grandchildren.

Tim is survived by his wife, Sandra C. “Sandi” Spaulding; daughter Krista “Nikki” Ludwig (Dan) of Brighton, IL; sons Christopher “Chris” Spaulding of Alton, IL, Timothy “Timmy” Spaulding ll (Christine Muntz) of Alton, Matthew “Matt” Spaulding of East Alton, IL; sisters Carol Straub (Lynn) of Fieldon, IL and Elizabeth Walker (David) of Crystal Lake, IL; brother, James “Jim” Spaulding (Mary) of Katy, TX; three grandchildren, Katelyn Ludwig, Rylie Ludwig and Tessa Muntz; and many nieces and newphews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Tom Spaulding.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10 am, on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 with the Rev. Bruce Baumberger officiating.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, with military rites by the Alton VFW Post 1308 Ritual Team.

Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
