Thomas Joseph Niemeyer, 48, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010.
He was born June 19, 1962 in Alton.
A truck driver, he worked for Sysco Foods for 25 years.
He was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfaer, great brother, uncle, and friend. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time on his farm and with his family. He was also a historian who loved to participate and attend Civil War reenactments, and he was known for his fun sense of humor.
He was a truck driver for Sysco from 1993-2010. He will be sadly missed by his wife, family, and friends.
He married Jonna Michelle Ball June 23, 1999 in Jerseyville. She survives.
In addition to his wife, surviving are his parents, Paul and Esther Novack and Rosemary Niemeyer all of Alton; five daughters, Sarah Mayhew and her husband Coy Hill of Murrayville, Ill., Kelsie Niemeyer of Palmyra, Ill., Robin Allman and Lindsey Niemeyer, both of Wood River, and Rebecca Allman of Bethalto; 3 grandchildren Dalen and Caleb Hill and Kegan Bailey and one expected grandchild; three sisters, Peggy Niemeyer of Cottage Hills, Cheryl Sanders of Pawnee, Ill., and Pam Henry of Godfrey; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Jane Novack of Alton and Rowland and Jennifer Novack of Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Niemeyer; a brother, George Niemeyer; and a brother-in-law, Tommy Sanders.
Visitation will be Thursday at Paynic Home for Funerals from 3p.m. until services begin at 6:30 p.m. Father Tom Liebler will officiate.
