Thomas J. Mackelden, 82, of Alton, IL, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Gateway Regional Medical Center, Granite City, IL.
Born to the late Ray and Lucille (Carmody) Mackelden on October 14, 1942 in Alton, IL.
Thomas retired after 42 years as the kitchen supervisor at OSF St. Anthony Hospital, Alton.
He is survived by two daughters, Gwen Noel and Jennifer Mackelden both of Alton, grandchildren, Haley Eaton, Mia Noel, Wren Noel, Mary Rangel, Sarah Rangel and Keelyn Bloch, and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Timothy J. Mackelden, brothers, Ray Mackelden, Timothy Mackelden, sisters, Florence Tyner and Mary Jo Carmody.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Johnson’s Corner in Alton.Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
