Thomas Lewis Keller, Sr., 69 died at 9:56 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born June 20, 1943 in Alton the son of the late Charles J. and Leveda R.( Huddelson ) Keller.
He retired as a brick layer with Laclede Steel after 35 years of service and currently was working as a security guard at Conoco Phillips in Wood River. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto, enjoyed farming spending time with his family and living life to the fullest.
He is survived by two daughters; Laura Michelle Young (Shawn) of Granite City, Sherry Lavite (Brad) of Wood River, one son; Thomas Lewis Keller, Jr. of Alton, four grandchildren; Chad Hammond, Samuel Keller, Mia Rebecca Anne Lavite, and Julia Allessandra Lavite, two brothers; Charles “Joe” Keller of Murray, KY and Luther “Pat” Keller Sr. of Bethalto, two sisters; Leveda Gavin (Henry) of Bethalto and Deborah Sivia (Lonnie) of Bethalto.
Waiting for him in heaven are one sister; Myrtle “Sug” Kates and two nephews; Bradley Keller and Lonnie Sivia Jr.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto with Reverend Mark Hofferber to officiate.
Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
