Thomas James Pruitt, 61, died peacefully at his home at 12:08 a.m. Sunday, April 10, 2011.
He was born in Alton on February 26, 1950 to Marion and Edna (Cauley) Pruitt, one of three boys.
Surviving are three sons, William Pruitt, James Pruitt and his wife Cara (Wall) Pruitt, and Benjamin Pruitt, two granddaughters, Jaelynn and Jocelynn, one brother, Allen Pruitt and his wife Dale Evans (Holmes) Pruitt, a nephew, Steven Pruitt, a niece, Edna Williamson, three great nephews, Steven, John and Allen and one great niece, Cindy. He is also survived by his former wife, Cassandra Hopper and her son, Joe Hopper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Steven Pruitt, and one great niece, Mary Elizabeth Williamson.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011.
Burial will be at Grand View/Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family in the care of Gent Funeral Home.
