Thomas J. “Turf” Antoff, 62, of Maryville, Illinois, passed away at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Town and Country, Missouri on Saturday, December 24, 2022. He was born May 13, 1960, in Granite City, Illinois, a son of the late Carl R. and Mary A. (Heth) Antoff. Tom was a steelworker and was employed at U.S. Steel with 26 years of dedicated service and was a member of the U.S.W. Steelworkers Local #1899. He loved his days of fishing and was a proud member of Team Viper. He also enjoyed working on cars and playing pool.
He loved his family, enjoyed the many special times with them and was always there to help them with any project. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Cody and Kasey Hay of Millstadt; his cherished granddaughter, Avery Hay; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Richard and Carol Antoff of Delaware, Christine and Rob Nevels of Alabama, Connie and George Schwendemann of Granite City, Ken Antoff of Mt. Carmel, Michael and Theresa Antoff of Collinsville, Keith and Kathy Antoff of Granite City and Kevin and Bobbi Antoff of North Carolina; many nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews; other extended family and many friends. In addition to his beloved parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Antoff.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Monday, January 2, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Steve Thompson as celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.
