Thomas Henry Curren Jr., 87, passed away at 10:15 pm Saturday September, 17, 2011 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
He was born on May 27, 1924 in Elmira, NY, the son of Thomas Henry Sr. & Lottie Elizabeth (Ayres) Curren.
He was a WWII Veteran serving in the Army Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was also a member of College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton.
He married Neva B. (Boeckler) on April 9, 1949 in Rochester, NY. She survives.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Michael Carl Curren of Wood River and Thomas H. Curren III of Alton; two grandchildren and spouses, Joshua & Donna Curren of Alton and Ashley & Andrew Cheng of Alton; two great grandchildren, Gracie & Raylynne Curren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Curren and one sister, Mary Curren.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 9 am until time of memorial services at 10 am Friday, September 23, 2011 at College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton with Rev. Dale Jackson officiating.
Inurnment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery with full military rites by Alton VFW Post 1308.
