Susan S. “Susie” Brakeville, 67, passed away at 2:00 pm Friday July 1, 2011 at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
She was born on December 31, 1943 in Palo Alto, CA the daughter of Louis & Dorothy C. (Clingan) Springman.
She married John D. “JB” “Bud” Brakeville on April 28, 1973 in Alton, and he survives her.
Susan was employed as a supervisor of the loading department at the Alton Box Board Company and then later with Jefferson Smurfit Company with over 30 years of service.
She enjoyed being with her family and friends, playing cards, bingo and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband John D. “JB” “Bud” of Godfrey, mother Dorothy C. Springman of Godfrey, two sisters Judy Yoder of Tucson AR, Dorothy J. Springman of Godfrey and many Nieces and Nephews.
Susie was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday July 7, 2011 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Monsignor Kenneth Steffen officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be directed to Masses, American Heart Association or 5 A’s Animal Shelter.
