Susan Roberts
East Alton |

Susan E. Roberts, 71, of East Alton, went to her heavenly home to meet Jesus peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
She was born on August 21, 1953, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of Darrel and Evelyn (Creson) Wilhoit. She married Edwin M. Roberts on June 8, 1975, in Martinsville, IL. He survives.
Susan worked as a special education teacher's aide for the Roxana School District for 18 years, and she previously substitute taught at Bethalto and Roxana Schools. She was a member of First Christian Church of Bethalto, Christian Motorcycle Association, GWRRA Chapters E&O, and Christian Sisters. Susan enjoyed praising her Lord Jesus through song. She sang beautifully and even wrote a few songs of faith when she felt the Lord giving her the words. She loved socializing with her church family, her Christian Sisters, and the members of her many motorcycle groups. She rode motorcycles as an act of love for her husband. The fellowship was her passion.
Susan loved serving others and giving to others in any form that she could find. She loved traveling, eating out, hanging out with her family, especially those awesome grandkids. Spoiling is an understatement! She just loved Jesus and did anything she could to live for Him and show Him to others through her attitude and servanthood. She was the most optimistic and positive person that you would ever meet. She exemplified LOVE because of her faith in Jesus!
Along with her husband, Edwin, she is survived by her children, Joy Roberson of Bethalto, IL, and Jay Roberts of Pekin, IL; grandchildren, Allie Roberson, Logan Roberson, Wyatt Roberts, and Levi Roberts; siblings, Scott (Marlene) Wilhoit of IL, Sarah (Doug) Michael of TN, Shari (Larry) Spittler of TX, and Stan Wilhoit of IL. She has several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends that she would call family. She loved every single one of you so very much!
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Steve (Debbie is still living) Wilhoit.
