Susan Marie (nee Sutterer) Kuhinja, 75, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was born on April 18, 1949, in Chester, IL the daughter of Harold and Helen (Kieffer) Sutterer Sr. Susan married Sefik Kuhinja on April 12, 2006, and he preceded her in death.
Susan worked as a traveling nurse and worked out of St. John's Mercy and De Paul Hospitals. She enjoyed sewing and crochet. Susan's greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Susan is survived by four children, Cheryl and Tom Laurent of Auburn, IL, Donald and Jenny Hyman Jr. of E. Alton, IL, Beth and Eric Blankley of Staunton, IL, and Eric Hyman of Benld, IL; her siblings, Marilyn Schicken, Joy Jackson, Teresa Martin, and Trudy Albers; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Sefik; Susan is preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Cremation will take place at Godfrey Crematory.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
