Susan J. Laughlin, 72, died at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Alton Nursing & Rehab. Born May 5, 1942 in Alton, she was the daughter of Gavin and Maria (Macias) Marin. On October 24, 1961 she married Garold W. “Buzzy” Laughlin. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1999. Surviving are two daughters, Sandy Mester of Alton and Chris Laughlin (Kenny Ellison) of Alton, a son, Wayne Laughlin (Tammy), four grandchildren, Derek Ganter, Danielle Ellison, Johnathan Laughlin, Brandon Laughlin, one great grandchild, Jaiden Laughlin, and a sister, Louise Rangel of Alton. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Tino, Michael, and Zeke Marin. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Seeram Garney will officiate.
