Sue Ellyn Meisenheimer Hoxsie Bricker, 80, of Cottage Hills, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024.
She was born on Jan. 17, 1944, in Alton, the daughter of Leland and Blanche (Werts) Meisenheimer.
Sue Ellyn worked at Beverly Farm Foundation for 34 years as a supervisor. She enjoyed doing crafts, making floral arrangements for graves, cooking, baking, and genealogy. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Billie) Hoxsie of Elsah, IL, Merle "Pooter" (Rhonda) Bricker, Jr. of Cottage Hills, Danny (Corina) Bricker of Robertsdale, AL., Jeffrey (Dana) Bricker of Baltimore, MD., and Dawn Bell of Cottage Hills; two brothers, Lathy (Pam) Meisenheimer of Dorchester, IL., and Robert Tuetken of Temple Terrace, FL.; eleven grandchildren, Crystal Rorie, Amy (Chris) Reeder, Rachel (James) Bohanon, Brianna LeDoux-Bricker, Melanie (Zack) Dierking, Jeffrey Bricker, Jr., Jackie (Jerri) Graham, Chad (Sarah) Graham, Brandy (Joe) Seiler, Jennifer (Kyle) Hargis, and Karen (Eric) Park; nineteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Marjorie Meisenheimer; two infant sisters, Dorothy and Loretta; and a son-in-law, Ed Bell.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m., at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Terry McKinize will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethalto United Methodist Cemetery.
