Steven R. Lahey, 57, died at 1:17 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at OSF St. Anthony’s Health Center.
He was born November 5, 1964, in Jerseyville, IL the son of the late Richard Lahey and Alice (Blackorby) Bock of Godfrey. He worked for many years at National, Shop and Save, and Schnucks Grocery Stores in the greater St. Louis, MO area. Steven enjoyed golf, cars, BBQ, St. Louis Cardinal baseball, bags, and spending time with his family.
Along with his mother, he is survived by one sister, Tammy Plumb of Godfrey, and his special niece, Rylee Plumb of Godfrey who he treated as like his own daughter. Also surviving is his loving companion, Susan Nagy of Alton and children, Kris Nagy (Sarah) of Frisco, TX, Brian Nagy Sr. (Nicole) of Maryville, IL, Matt Nagy (Jocelyn) of Godfrey, Elly Nagy of Alton, and Pat Nagy of Wood River, ten grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa, Alex, Brian, Jr., Taylor, Lizzy, Maddy, Mia, Ella and Jack, Jeeda (granddog) one great-grandson, Grayson, and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Pastor Sonny Reken will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics. Family request casual dress for the service.
