Stella Mae Feilbach, 94, of Piasa, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Jersey Community Hospital.
She was born on July 31, 1930, the daughter of the late Jess and Mabel (Irvin) Tanner.
Stella married Donald E. Feilbach on June 23, 1955, in Fosterburg. They were married 64 years prior to his passing on November 4, 2019.
She worked at Thrifty Drug when she was 17. Stella saved and went to Shurtleff College where she took bookkeeping classes and started to work at Slack Furniture in Alton.
Once she was married, she became a home maker who enjoyed spending time in her garden and out in her yard. She was able to still be mowing when she was 94.
Stella is survived by two children Carl Feilbach and Cathy Ottwell both of Piasa; sister Mary Leady.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers Virgil, Hubert, John, and Ted Tanner; son-in-law Noren Ottwell.
Visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
Graveside services will be immediately following at Fosterburg Cemetery.
Sophie was her favorite grand dog. Memorials may be made to 5 A’s animal shelter.
