Sidney Leo Clements, 92, of Mitchell, IL, died at 6:57 p.m. Thurs. May 8, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family while under hospice care.
He was born Apr. 4, 1933 in Cumberland City, TN to the late Hester and Christine (Adams) Clements.
On Apr. 30, 1977 he married Betty Joyce Bollinger in Granite City, IL. She survives.
Leo was a U.S. Army veteran, a life member of the AMVETS #51, Neighborhood Social Club and Eagles and was a Mason for 45 years. He retired from Granite City Steel after 45 years, having worked in the roll grinding shop.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by 3 grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren, and 1 brother, David Clements of Granite City.
Besides his parents, Leo was preceded in death by 2 sons, David and Earl Anderson, 3 grandchildren, a sister, Shirley Clements, and 2 brothers, James and Jackie Clements.
Services are private and he will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery – Maryville Rd.
