Shirley Warren

Shirley Maxine Warren, 93 of Granite City passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.

Shirley was born on November 18, 1928, in East St. Louis, IL; the daughter of the late Sherman and Mildred (Woodward) Wright. Shirley was an office manager for SM Wilson Construction in Granite City. Shirley was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Granite City and a loving mother and grandmother to her family. Shirley will be remembered for the love of her family and all the special times they shared together.

Shirley is survived by and will be missed by her granddaughter; Sarah and Terry George Waterfield of Durham, NC; son-in-law, John D. George of Durham, NC; sister-in-law, Shirley Wright of Fairview Heights, IL; dearest friend, Nelson King of Granite City, IL and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other close family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her 1st husband; Edward E. Henderson; 2nd husband, Charles Warren; daughter, Beverly Kay George; son, Edward Sherman Henderson; brothers, Sherman E. Wright, Milton Wright, Donald Wright, Burton Wright; sister, Kathleen Kay Beamer.

In accordance with Shirley’s wishes she will be cremated with no services to be held.
