Shirley M. Osborn, 86, died at 5:05 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2011 at St. Clare’s Hospital. Born December 15, 1924 in Alton, she was the daughter of Fred and Dora (Lowe) Shewmake. She was a member of the River of Life Family Church in Alton. On August 6, 1942 in Alton, she married Homer Osborn. He survives. Also surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Miles of Alton, one son and daughter-in-law, Gaylen and Vicki Osborn of Godfrey, five grandchildren, Crystal Edwards and husband Cory, Laura Laslie and husband Shaun, Joseph Osborn and wife Julie, Lizabeth Miles-Drainer and husband Michael, and Samantha Miles, six great grandchildren, a half brother, Robert Fleisher and a half sister, Susie Dutton and her husband Fred all of California. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 at the River of Life Family Church where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Reverend Mark Church will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the River of Life Family Church Building Fund. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
