Shirley Logsdon

Shirley Eileen Logsdon, 77, died at 2:37 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home.She was born on January 5, 1934 she was the last surviving are four children born to the late Charles & Naomi (Hoffstetter) Orr.Shirley was raised in Wood River and was a huge St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, along with her favorite player, Albert Pujols.She married Logan Edward Logsdon on June 12, 1958 in Alton, and they spent many years raising their family in the Otterville area before moving to Jerseyville in 1990.  The two shared 46 years together before his death on Oct. 25, 2004.Surviving are a daughter, Leigh Logsdon of Jerseyville; three sons & daughters in law, Edward Logsdon, and his fiance' Darla of Roodhouse, Darryl & Angie Logsdon of Dow, and Kenneth Logsdon of Jerseyville; a daughter in law, Ellen Logsdon of Eldred; three grandchildren and their spouses, Carol & Josh Pagel of Jerseyville, Mary & Carl Powers of Hardin, and Joseph Logsdon of Dow; two great grandchildren, Henry Logan Pagel and Autumn Powers.In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Terrell; and two brothers, Paul Orr and Leroy Orr.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday.  Rev. Sonny Renken will officiate.Cremation will take place after the ceremonies.In honor of her husbands service to our country, memorials may be given to the Jerseyville American Legion Color Guard.
