Sheila C. (Blackard) Ballesteroz, 76, passed away at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Bria of Godfrey.
She was born on February 26, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Ethel (Abraham) Blackard.
She married Frank Ballesteroz in Edwardsville, Illinois. He survives.
Sheila worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Wood River Hospital for over 40 years. She was a lifelong Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed watching WWE, especially Roman Reigns. In her free time, Sheila enjoyed staying at home with her dog, Hannah, and her husband.
Sheila is survived by her husband, Frank Ballesteroz of Illinois; her nephew, Christopher (Valerie Fulks) Orban of Illinois, and her niece, Jennifer (Brad Hubbard) Long of Illinois; three half-sisters, Patty Valette of California, Sally Taylor of Texas, and Mickey Jamison of Illinois; as well as her two great-nephews, Christopher C. Orban of California, and Brandon Orban of Illinois.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marsha Long; and a half-sister, Janice Holt.
Per Sheila's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey has been entrusted with arrangements.
